My work explores the relationships between different structures, memories and time. Through the medium of moving image and painting I use imagined spaces, forms and colour to create unusual relationships and conversations. My paintings often take on anthropomorphic or ambiguous qualities. The paint transforms the organic forms, pushes them into new spaces and interactions and gives them new possibilities. Similarly with moving image I am interested in creating a dream like quality. My most recent film Cracks portrays a woman trying to repair a broken home. She paints over the cracks and finding beauty in the destruction that surrounds her. The visceral qualities and materiality of the paint creates a very intimate moment between the woman and this place that she inhabits.
